Located in the exclusive and remote community of Rock Creek Cattle Company outside of Deer Lodge, Montana, this vacation get-away was a change of pace for jamesthomas. The stunning natural surroundings of this home, allowed us to use textiles, materials and colors befitting the locale. Warm rich fabrics and mixes of leathers, velvets and plaid wools created a cozy yet sophisticated vibe. Avoiding Western design clichés but maintaining a sensibility that was appropriate for the rustic setting was paramount. Unexpected elements such as a kitchen in soft creams help to differentiate this home from other luxury properties in the area. jamesthomas worked on every aspect of the design - architectural design, finishes, furniture, lighting design and selection and art procurement. A full installation (art placement, bed and bath linens, kitchen wares, bar stocking, staff training) allowed the client to have a turn- key experience.
