jamesthomas was honored to be a part of the team that renovated and added on to this landmark estate on Lake Michigan in Highland Park. This 20,000 square foot 1920’s chateau style home was completely renovated during a 2 year period. jamesthomas selected all the interior finishes, plumbing and decorative lighting fixtures, furniture, fabrics, window treatments and assisted with the procuring of accessories and art. It was important for the interior to reflect the traditional elements of the architecture, while remaining true to the more contemporary aesthetics of the homeowners. A home to a family with teenagers and a young puppy, the interior finishes had to be durable and practical while still being appropriately stunning for a house of this grandeur and scale. A soft, neutral palette creates a serene and timeless backdrop in which this family can spend many happy years.
