Glencoe Residence

This historic north shore residence has been a project of love and devotion that has spanned many evolutions. Working on a room by room basis, jamesthomas initially started with furnishing and decorating the home after an initial renovation of the house. As the relationship flourished the project grew into a complete re-design of the lower level and a garden room addition. Most recently, jamesthomas partnered with Morgante Wilson Architects to remodel existing space and to create an additional wing to the home. jamesthomas selected all the finishes, furniture, decorative lighting and millwork design for the added and renovated kitchen, family room and dining room. A golf simulator and workout room were added to the re-designed lower level. Respecting the historic nature of the house was paramount in the design. Like the architecture, interior finishes and furniture (both new and old) integrate to feel as they have been a part of the house for decades. A soft comfortable palette mixed with subtle greens and reds provide visual interest yet maintains the casually elegant nature of the home. jamesthomas is thrilled that this project was featured in the Early Spring 2010 edition of Renovation Style.
