jamesthomas was thrilled to be a part of this architecturally significant new residence in Sun Valley, Idaho. Designed by local architect, Michael Blash and Associates, jamesthomas was integral in the selection of all interior finishes, consulting on millwork, interior and exterior construction details, and fireplace designs, lighting design and specifications as well as selecting all furniture and furnishings. The 12,000 square foot residence blends contemporary design with a Western/Mountain sensibility. Creating a sense of comfort was paramount to the design while still capturing the spirit of the architecture. With five bedroom suites, home theater, wine cellar, exercise room, office, kids’ play room, interior and exterior lanais and open living/dining/kitchen and family room spaces, the home had to feel warm and inviting for this young family. A warm color palette for the main living rooms unifies the grand space. The office is starkly white with a blend of contemporary furniture to offset the rugged landscape viewed from the windows. Children’s rooms are designed to be spaces for kids – soft edges, durable fabrics and pops of color and materials. Unique, custom made furniture pieces upholstered in rich fabrics placed on softly worn walnut or stone floors quietly complement the stunning design of this truly remarkable home.
