jamesthomas was hired to completely re-vamp the interiors of this two bedroom vintage residence.  The client’s goal was to freshen the space using bold colors, rich textures, unusual furnishings and eclectic art.  A new layer of lighting was installed to emphasize drama and existing fixtures were lacquered to update their look.  By creating a high-backed upholstered banquette the dining area breaks from the expected.  The library was given a new look by painting it a charcoal gray to emphasize the cozy qualities of the room.  The living room is broken into a variety of vignettes: an elegant seating area; a sleek work space and an intimate private reading corner.  Lucy Rose wallcovering in the foyer harkens back to the building’s original grandeur while still feeling fresh and contemporary.  This residence showcases jamesthomas’ talents for dramatic interiors.
